State employees will no longer take part in the Capitol walkout because they feel the focus has shifted from funding all core services to only funding education.  

The Oklahoma Public Employees Association announced in a tweet Thursday afternoon that they will no longer be participating in the Capitol walkout.  

State employees are joining teachers in the call for more funding and better pay. The Oklahoma Public Employees Association rallied for change on Wednesday in Tulsa.

About 1,000 state workers were among the tens of thousands of teachers demonstrating at the State Capitol Monday. 

Hundreds of state employees are walking out alongside teachers today at the state capital. The lack of manpower caused some state offices to close for the day.

Among the tens of thousands of teachers at the Capitol are state workers who also feel neglected by legislators.  

Several Oklahoma Department of Public Safety driver's license locations are closed Monday, April 2. The agency tells News On 6 the closings are due to employees attending the rally at the capitol.

With the clock ticking toward the teacher strike deadline, Republican lawmakers brought out a new plan Thursday to give teachers a raise. 

The planned statewide teacher strike planned for next month has now grown significantly, as thousands of state employees decided to officially join the cause. Oklahoma Public Employee Association board members believe there is strength in numbers.

Just like teachers in Oklahoma, state agency employees said they're fed up and ready for action.
